The Hut Group was crowned in the international trade category for its stellar growth overseas, after reporting an 89% increase in revenue to £316 million in the year to 31 December 2016.

The retail group, which aims to become the world’s largest online retailer of health and beauty products, ships to 195 destinations worldwide. Its portfolio includes 166 sites that sell in 35 languages. The online presence is supported by two distribution centres, in Cheshire, UK and Kentucky, US, and the group is currently building a third centre in Poland to bring next-day-delivery to continental Europe.

Matthew Moulding, founder and CEO, commented: “We are delighted to be recognised as part of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, which celebrates the wealth of business talent that the UK has to offer. Receiving the prestigious International Trade award is testament to the ambition, innovation and dedication of our people in developing The Hut Group into an internationally renowned, British business.”

The winners of the Queen’s Award to industry were announced on 21 April, as the Queen celebrated her birthday. They are one of the most prestigious business awards in the UK, with the winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.
