Global lifestyle brand Ted Baker is continuing its expansion programme, signing a 10-year lease on a 3,300 sq ft store at Basingstoke centre’s 1.1 million sq ft Festival Place.

The latest store will be located on the ground floor and stock the fashion and lifestyle retailer’s full range of womenswear, menswear and accessories.

The brand joins a host of fashion brands at the mall, including as H&M, Next, Superdry, Jack Wills, Jack & Jones, River Island, and FatFace.

Simon Barrett, Managing Director and Head of Asset Management at centre operator AEW, said: “The opening of a Ted Baker store at Festival Place is a great endorsement for the transformation that has taken place at the centre under AEW’s leadership and will complement the varying needs of Festival Place’s guests. The fact that Ted Baker is joining the scheme and that other brands have recently renewed their leases is very encouraging and testifies to our proactive approach to asset management.”

With more than 25 new leases/lease renewals agreed in the last 18 months, including H&M, Monsoon Accessorize and Skechers, Festival Place is “showcasing continued resilience and relevance as a key retail and leisure destination,” added Barrett.

He also noted that the total number of visitors to Festival Place in August was 1.3 million, an increase of 8.3% vs 2021 as it outperformed the UK National benchmark.
