Edit Suits Co, which trades from a platform offering “high-quality, made-to-measure suits without the hefty price tag” has opened a showroom-style retail unit at Birmingham’s Mailbox shopping centre, its first outside London.

After researching where to open its second showroom, Swiss-born co-owners Patrick Jungo and Reto Peter, saw Birmingham “as the most interesting market in the UK.”

Jungo noted: “The Mailbox is ideally located in the city; a number of major international businesses have their headquarters here and the whole retail landscape has changed dramatically over the last decade. Added to that the Commonwealth Games [taking place] in July and Birmingham really is the place to be.”

Promising “state of the art facilities”, the Mailbox showroom “will offer customers a new way to shop”. With the spring/summer season approaching, one of the key areas for Edit Suits Co will be the wedding market, it noted.

Customers are appointed a personal stylist to “understand the client’s exact needs and runs them through an extensive array of customisations and fabrics”.

Each custom-made suit takes around three to six weeks to create, depending on fabric choice, and if any alterations are required they will be carried out locally in Birmingham or London. Because measurements are recorded in the customer’s profile they can conveniently reorder online.

“Our clients receive an exceptionally high standard of service and benefit from our range of heritage fabrics from prestigious mills such as Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Dormeuil, Fox Brothers and Abraham Moon & Sons,” the partners noted.

Custom suit prices begin from £349 with shirts from £69, alongside made-to-measure chinos, overcoats, field jackets and shorts.
