& Other Stories has released the campaign for its new capsule collection, featuring models Valentijn de Hingh and Hari Nef. The team of creatives and models on the campaign are all transgender, an initiative that & Other Stories hopes will help broaden the view on gender and identity in fashion.

The team consisted of the two models, as well as photographer Amos Mac, stylist Love Bailey and make-up artist Nina Poon.

“The fashion world is embracing transgender models and we think that’s great. But we couldn’t help to ask ourselves how the traditional fashion gaze can change if we keep the same normative crew behind the camera. So we invited five amazing creatives, all transgender, to make our latest story,” says Sara Hildén Bengtson, Creative Director, & Other Stories.

“Fashion has played a huge role in the process of constructing my identity. Fashion was my first exposure to different ways of being a woman that weren’t necessarily rooted in conventions or conventional beauty,” says Hari Nef.

The new collection combines sportswear elements with a ready-to-wear approach and includes a parka, anorak, tights, skirt, vest, dress and tops. It launches on August 20.

“Inspired by contemporary dressing, we wanted to bring ideas we love from sportswear into the ready-to-wear wardrobe. By merging two contrasting sides in one collection, mixing functional materials with natural qualities like wool, these everyday pieces have a playful dynamic and go great with everything,” says Stephanie Sikkes, designer, & Other Stories.
