Sweaty Betty's Annabel Thorburn becomes e-commerce chief at Harvey Nichols

As e-tail becomes increasingly important to luxury department stores, Harvey Nichols has named Annabel Thorburn as its new e-commerce director.

She had been senior vice-president of e-commerce at expanding athlesiure business Sweaty Betty.

She joins on 17 April, taking over from the retailer’s interim e-tail chief Kate Smyth and in a reflection of the importance of e-commerce, she’ll report directly to CEO Manju Malhotra.

She has a strong track record in e-tail, having been with Sweaty Betty since 2018 and having previously worked in tech and consultancy for supermarkets giant Tesco. She’s also worked for digital agency Isobar.

Malhotra said that the retailer is continuing to invest in developing its online offer, “evolving both the product and services we offer digitally. We are focused on delivering more for our customers, from the launch of our rewards program available through our app, to the ever-growing range of brands and products we offer.”
