This is a major debut for Swarovski. The crystalware giant has launched its very first collection of luxury home decoration accessories, in the wake of its Atelier Swarovski line, which was created in 2007 and features jewellery and luxury fashion accessories highlighting the creative potential of crystal.

The collection is labelled Atelier Swarovski Home, and will be unveiled at Milan's Furniture Show, during an exhibition being held from 12th to 17th April. The group has explained in a press release how the project is part of Swarovski's evolution as "a lifestyle brand."

"It is a new brand featuring the best in home decoration, with luxury items made of crystal and characterised by an ultra-modern design aesthetic," added Nadja Swarovski, a member of Swarovski's executive committee, in the communiqué.

To produce this new line, the company has called on both emerging and established designers, such as Aldo Bakker, Daniel Libeskind, Fredrikson Stallard, Kim Thomè, Raw Edges, Ron Arad, Tomàs Alonso and Tord Boontje.

The collection consists of a series of accessories, art objects and home decoration items with crystal as their main ingredient, whether alone or in combination with other materials such as marble, metal or resin. The label stated that the pieces are manufactured using state-of-the-art technology, including crystal printing and the 'wave cut' technique.

The first Atelier Swarovski Home collection will go on sale from next autumn on the dedicated website atelierswarovskihome.com as well as through a number of selected stores. The prices of these luxury design pieces range from €150 to €20,000.
