Superdry to launch Indian website next month

Published

Superdry has been sharing plenty of information recently about its ambitious plans for India, and it now seems that as well as opening new stores, it will be focusing on multichannel retail with an Indian website due in the middle of August.

Superdry is to launch an Indian website

The company's products are already available on major platforms in the country, including Myntra, Ajio and Amazon, but a directly operated website is a key part of building the brand profile and growing sales in the giant market.

The brand has been available in India in a deal with Reliance Brands since 2012 and has been enjoying high-double-digit growth.

Its local business head Manu Sharma told Business Line that the new website will aim to provide a seamlessly integrated omnichannel experience to consumers.

It will also allow consumers access to a much larger product selection with more than 4,000 options available. And the company is expecting the new webstore to represent between 7% and 10% of its sales in the year ahead, driven by its top-selling products such as T-shirts and shirts.

The website debut comes as the company also expands its physical points of sale across India and adds new product categories such as the launch of its SuperdrySport line that debuted last year with a standalone store in Delhi. The next standalone will open in Bengaluru and another 10 are planned for the year ahead.
