Stella McCartney to open a flagship on rue Saint-Honoré in Paris

Stella McCartney is investing in rue Saint Honoré. The eponymous label by the British designer, 50% of which is owned by France's Kering, will open its second boutique, measuring 200 meters by 200 meters, in Paris by the end of this year.
The future Saint-Honoré site is currently occupied by the chocolatier Jean-Paul Hevin, who must relocate because of the increasing cost of rent in the coveted Right Bank.
"The neighboring shops have given way to luxury brands. This development was accelerated and resulted in a surge in commercial leases," said Hevin in a statement to Le Parisien, explaining that rents have increased fifty-fold over the past twenty years in this neighborhood.
The fashion house has confirmed its intention to set up the rue Saint-Honoré, inaugurating a second address in France's capitol since the 2008 opening of its first boutique in Paris at 114-121 of the Galerie de Valois overlooking the gardens of the Palais-Royal.
Stella McCarney opened her first boutique at the prestigious Galerie de Valois at the same time as Marc Jacobs. The American designer closed this boutique last summer and decided to transfer to the Rue Saint-Honoré, where he will shortly settle at number 368. A move that could signal the start of others...
