St David’s bolsters fashion credentials with Skechers, Ted Baker

Published
Nov 26, 2019

After welcoming a host of new brands including Bershka and Levi’s, St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff is adding two more fashion names to its retail lineup.

Ted Baker

Skechers and Ted Baker are the latest to choose the mall for new stores.

With a circus-themed store designed by an in-house team, Ted Baker has opened a 2,800 sq ft unit on the Grand Arcade, providing a full range of its designer clothing and accessories for men and women.

Skechers has taken a 5,229 sq ft store adjacent to Foot Locker on Town Wall. The store concept was also created by an in-house team and it incorporates eclectic colours and an interior configuration that reflects the brand’s bright, athletic concept.

Commenting on the openings, Kate Grant, intu’s regional managing director, said: “Both Ted Baker and Skechers have international popularity, and will sit perfectly amongst St David’s distinctive global lifestyle offering, alongside the likes of Footasylum and The White Company. They will no doubt appeal to St David’s shoppers as they visit the destination to fulfil all of their fashion needs.”

Owned by the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Landsec and Intu, the shopping centre celebrated its tenth anniversary in October. It has come a long way over the last decade, attracting international brands and undergoing change to boost footfall.

The Ivy also opened its first ever Welsh location at St David’s earlier this month.
