The project is part of Sport Direct’s new store portfolio strategy, bringing together the company’s leading brands in a single location.

The superstore will spread over 180,000 sq ft and include distinct retail space for each of the retail fascias. Luxury men and women-s designer store Flannels will be located across the ground and first floor, while a built-in gym, Scotland’s very first Everlast Fitness Club, will occupy a part of the second floor.

The building will also house USC and Sports Direct’s latest concept store design.

Sports Direct has hired ISG to build the store and give it a striking design completed with a gullwing roof structure, extensive glazing and cladding panels and distinctive coloured mosaic feature panels.

The Flannels store will be the second in Scotland after the brand’s Silverburn site, which opened at the Glasgow shopping centre earlier this year.
