Five designers and brands will be taking on the retail model of see-now-buy-now at 080 Barcelona Fashion, the biannual showcase taking place from 10 January to 3 February at Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.

Brands including childrenswear label Boboli, Custo Barcelona, TCN, Escorpoion and ZE Garcia are set to present collections for the upcoming Spring Summer season, instead of showing their Autumn Winter collections as they would normally do.

This will be the first time the booming retail format is available at 080 Barcelona Fashion. Event director and manager of CCCAM Miquel Rodriguez said in a press conference that the popularity of see-now-buy-now has led organisers of 080 Barcelona to offer designers the possibility to present collections that will be on sale in two or three months.

The 19th edition of the fashion event will also see the debuts of young designers Daniel Rosa, Anel Yaos, Pilar del Campo and fashion brands Aubergin, Little Creative Factory and men’s underwear label E.S.Collection.

Other brands taking part in the event include Aldomartins, Antonio Miro, Blame, Brain&Beast, CND By Cóndor, Josep Abril, Justicia Ruano, Krizia Robustella, Lebor Gabala, Loa by Lidia Aguilera, Lola Casademunt, Miquel Suay, Miriam Ponsa, Naulover, Oscarleon, Pablo Erroz, Punto Blanco, Torras, Txell Miras, VM La Sibèria, Wom&Now and Yerse.

More than 20 labels will be showcased at 080 Fashion Market, a fashion and accessories exhibition open to the public at Open Arean, in the main hall of TNC.

The Government of Catalonia and sponsors, designers and brands have invested 1.3 million euros to run the event.

Celebrating young fashion businesses in Catalonia, an emerging designer will be presented with the National Prize of the Generalitat for Emerging Design, with nominees including Anel Yaos, Aubergin, Blame, Daniel Rosa and Pilar del Campo.

Additionally, an established brand will be presented with the National Prize for the Best Autumn Winter 2017-18 Collection, which is aimed at Spanish brands that have a turnover of more than 50,000 euros and launch four collections a year. The winner will have the chance to participate at 080 Barcelona Fashion for free for one season.

International labels will be also honoured with the Modacc Award to the Best Collection, and side events such as 080 Fashion Showroom and Barcelona Fashion Summit will return as the meeting point for fashion professionals.
