Spain’s Grupo Cortefiel appoints new CEO
Grupo Cortefiel, the owner of Spanish department store chain Cortefiel, has announced the appointment of Jaume Miquel as new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Berta Escudero who presented her resignation citing personal reasons.
Miquel became Grupo Cortefiel’s General Manager in March this year, after spending over 10 years in the company as General Manager of lingerie brand Women’s Secret. He has extensive experience working in the fashion industry and has previously held senior roles at Timberland, Dockers, Levi Strauss and Tiempo/BBDO.
With over 2,095 stores worldwide, Grupo Cortefiel is one of Spain’s largest fashion retail companies. It is made up of five brands: Cortefiel, Springfield, Women’s Secret, Pedro del Hierro and outlet chain Fifty Factory.
The group’s President, Miguel Ibarrola, will support the new CEO during the transition and ensure the company continues to operate in line with its strategic plan.
