Sophia Kokosalaki, the designer of her eponymous London-based luxury fashion brand, has entered the jewellery market with an inaugural collection of exquisite artisan pieces.

The jewellery collection was inspired by the culture and beauty of Kokosalaki's native Greece, its "myths, the mystical and the cosmos as well as the urban architectural landscape," the brand said. Its motifs are familiar from Greek mythology: the Gordian Knot and Nemean Lion feature in the collection, as well as a harp, lunar discs, and mussels.

Kokosalaki reinvents these ancient symbols, giving them a fresh new look in curvilinear, kinetic designs. The pieces are made in Grecian gold, gold plated silver and freshwater pearls, and include cuffs, upper arm and wrist bracelets, drop earrings and pendants, and even rings with hidden compartments, adding to the mystique. There are also bold accessories, like a mussel belt and a 9K gold safety pin that can "perfectly hold the folds of a dress."

The jewellery collection is available now and retails from £150 for a gold plated silver bracelet, up to £1500 for a pair of 9k gold earrings. The pieces have enjoyable names, like the "Meteorfall" earrings with freshwater pearls, or the "Horn of Plenty" ring.
