Sloggi gives Notting Hill Carnival viral star a lead campaign role

Sloggi has cast a “dancing granny,” who went viral after busting some moves in front of thousands of revellers at Notting Hill Carnival, as the face of a humorous online campaign celebrating comfort.

Colette Zacca stars in a remake of '90s hit song ‘Baby Got Back’ in an online ad designed to revamp Sloggi’s best-selling 79 Maxi Cut underwear.

The campaign is part of the underwear brand’s 40th anniversary celebrations, and sees Zacca rap about why being comfortable is the new cool as she twerks alongside a diverse cast of dancers.

A sloggi spokesperson, said: “For 40 years, Sloggi has been the headline act in promoting positive body image for women through creating comfortable and stylish underwear.

“When we spotted dancing granny, signing her up was a no-brainer and credit to the team for producing an ad to be proud of in double quick time. Colette’s liberating attitude towards celebrating your body regardless of age, shape or size makes her the perfect front-woman for Sloggi, and the new launch of our iconic Maxi Cut underwear.”

Colette Zacca added: “I’m still in denial that this is all happening, and that so many people have seen my dance moves. After two hip replacements, I never thought I’d dance again, let alone be signed by Sloggi. The brand has been a joy to work with, and I’m really proud of the work we’re making.

“I’ve always loved dancing so the whole experience has been incredible. It took me a while to gain the confidence I have now, so I hope the campaign inspires others to feel the same - just confident, comfortable and happy with their bodies, in their own skin.”
