Norton joines Skims from Moncler, where he most recently served as president of Moncler Americas. Before that, he was with Roberto Cavalli as chief executive officer of the Americas.

Prior to that, the luxury executive spent nearly 15 years at Ralph Lauren, where he eventually became vice president, divisional merchandise manager of men’s, prior to which he was vice president, Ralph Lauren Retail, North America.

Announcing the news via the company's LinkedIn, Skims said it hired Norton to turn its company into a "global retail brand."

“I have been a fan of Robert’s for several years and believe him to be a rare, creatively minded executive who knows how to build both a brand and a business," said Jens Grede, co-founder and CEO of Skims.

"We are excited to have Robert on the team as we continue the evolution of SKIMS into a global retail brand."

Norton will report to Grede.

Known for its neutral colour palette and body inclusivity, Skims was co-founded in 2019 by Kim Kardashian, Jens Grede and Emma Grede.

In January 2022, the company secured $240 million in a funding round led by Lone Pine Capital, taking its total valuation to $3.2 billion. More recently, Skims launched its debut swimwear collection last March.
