Skechers expands European store portfolio with four new additions
American lifestyle and performance footwear brand Skechers is amplifying its presence in Europe with four new retail stores in leading outlet centres throughout the region.
The brand has recently opened a 192 sq m store at The Style Outlets in Sugar City, Amsterdam and is investing heavily in the Italian market, where is set to launch new shops at The Style Outlets in Vicolungo and Castel Guelfo and at Mantova Outlet Village.
The new stores add to a global network of over 2,000 retail locations in more than 160 countries across six continents. In 2016, Skechers generated $3.56 billion in annual net sales, representing a year-on-year jump of 13.2%.
“The Skechers lifestyle and performance divisions have proved enormously successful with shoppers around the world, and as a result the retailer is investing in an ambitious expansion programme. We are very excited to secure these new European stores and support the ongoing development of the brand in the global outlet market,” commented Ana Mendi of Harper Dennis Hobbs, the company advising Skechers on its expansion plans.
The brand’s new stores in Milan will occupies spaces of between 198 sq m and 218 sq m.
