Four new brands have signed 10-year leases at Glasgow Fort following a £50 million investment to improve public spaces and sustainability at the centre.

Glasgow Fort’s revamp over the last five years has boosted real spend per shopper by 26%, according to a recent CACI survey conducted over the peak Christmas shopping period last December.

Skechers, Ann Summers, Argento and Lush have decided to join the line-up and enjoy the centre’s booming reputation. Skechers will open one of its largest stores in the UK, taking 5,040 sq ft, while Ann Summers will open a 2,248 sq ft store.

Jewellery and watch retailer Argento has taken 390 sq ft for its first out of town store, and Lush has opened in a 1,843 sq ft unit.

Annalise Walker, asset manager for British Land, said:  “Glasgow Fort highlights our placemaking skills and shows how creating attractive and engaging places appeals to occupiers, and drives footfall to our centres. Over the last few years we’ve used our insight and data to make Glasgow Fort the perfect place for customers to shop, eat, be entertained and relax, which is reflected in the increased retail spend.”

20 new brands, including Superdry, JD Sports, Paperchase, Elegance Beauty Salon, Guy & Beard, Yo!, and Smiggle, have been introduced to the centre in the last two years. Glasgow Fort features now 90 shopping and leisure brands such as Zara, H&M and Topshop.
