Sisley wants 20 French stores by 2020 as it targets ambitious sales goal
Sisley is keen to expand in France, after opening a first store in rue Montmartre, Paris, a year ago. The aim of the label owned by the Benetton group is to operate 20 stores in the country by the end of 2020, working with RNB Corporate, its French distributor since 2015.
RNB's founder Hubert Blanc said the aim is to open three new stores by the end of 2017, either directly or with retail partners. "We are looking at cities like Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Nice. The store concept is the same as the one adopted in Paris and for the latest openings worldwide. There are two formats: the women's store, for premises of around 90 sq m, and the mixed gender one, for those around 120-130 sq m."
The label is also growing in department stores: RNB announced Sisley's presence at select Printemps and Galeries Lafayette stores with womenswear for next season, as well as its menswear offer at the BHV Marais store in Paris and at Galeries Lafayette branches in Bordeaux and Marseille.
In terms of multi-brand store distribution, the label is currently working with 30 and plans to reach 100 by the end of 2017.
"With the new store openings, this expansion across all channels should enable us to generate a retail revenue of €5m," said Blanc. It is an ambitious figure, given the distributor claims a retail revenue close to €2m for Sisley in 2016.
