Shop Direct appoints Phil Hackney as Operations Director

The UK’s second largest online purple retailer has announced the appointment of the former Pets At Home Director, Phil Hackney, as the company’s new Operations Director.

Hackney, who has worked as Logistics Director at Pets At Home since 2007, is stepping into the new role in 2016 and will oversee the Logistics, Fulfilment and Customer Service team, reporting directly to the retailer’s CEO, Alex Baldock.

Alex Baldock, CEO of Shop Direct said: “I am delighted that Phil is joining Shop Direct. He is a logistics guru with tonnes of e-comm experience, and I am really looking forward to acting on Phil’s ideas to take our operations to the next level.”

Shop Direct, an online pureplay retailer with the digital department stores Very.co.uk, Littlewoods.com and VeryExclusive.co.uk, saw in its latest financial year a profits surge of 78% to £71.7 million, compared to £40.4 million in 2013/14.
