Shoe retailer Charles Clinkard opens at Teesside Park

Heritage footwear retailer Charles Clinkard has launched a new store at Teesside Shopping Park in Stockton-on-Tees.

Former Managing Director Colin Clinkard, a son of founders Charles and Eveline Clinkard, cut the ribbon of the store. “it’s an honour to officially open the new Teesside Park store so close to where the company first started out,” he said.

“We’ve created lots of new jobs and are pleased to be able to continue to support the local economy, and we are thrilled to receive the loyalty and continued support of the people of the area.”

Charles Clinkard was launched with a first shoe shop in Middlesbrough in 1924. The company now trades from over 33 stores across the UK and holds the licence for brands such as Gabor.

This year, the family retailer also relocated its headquarters to a 55,000 sq ft warehouse and head office space at Cannon Park, Middlesbrough.

It also recently appointed a new branch operations manager for the southern region.
