Sheffield-based premium brand In-grid has stepped out of its white shirt comfort zone to create a collection of handmade structural dresses and reinterpreted pieces.

The range, titled ‘Movement & Spaces’, includes a series of new interpretations of the A-line dress, with exaggerated volumes, strategic inserts and double layers giving the pieces a unique character.

There is also a loose fitting bodice will full sleeves in polka dot print and a white top covered with delicate perforations.

The brand launched a little over one year ago with a vision to reinterpret the classic white shirt for women. Its founders Adam Barclay, a graphic designer and photographer, and Katie Timothy, a one-time buyer turned tailor, design and make all pieces in England, so they can closely monitor the wellbeing of the individuals making the garments.

All designs are also made through the draping process, which means patterns are created by using fabric such as calico to drape onto a tailor’s dummy. The method allows the designers to see the shirt being made, helping them refine the shape and cut.

The ‘Movement & Spaces’ collection is launching on the brand’s website with prices from £260 to £800.
