Sézane inaugurates pop-up in Los Angeles
There was a queue this Thursday, April 29 at the Platform shopping center, in Culver City, where the Sézane pop-up, called 'Residence', will open for five months.
“At 1 p.m, we had already counted more than 400 clients in the store,” explained Alexandra Solves, the event coordinator. In the crowd, young girls aged 25 to 45, delighted to be able to discover the whole universe of the Parisian brand.
“All the girls who are interested in fashion in Los Angeles know Sézane," said Kimberley, a customer who has traveled all over the city to discover the Sézane wardrobe in person.
"My only disappointment is that the designer is not there. I have dreamt of meeting her.”
Despite the absence of Morgane Sezalory, the pop-up offered over 1000-square-feet of retail space, featuring two large lounges with all rattan furniture, flowered with lilacs and green plants and a large table presenting accessories and friendly brands. The store also retails Bien Aimé perfumes, medal bracelets by Maison Amour, Ysé Paris swimsuits and Bobo Choses children’s collections all made in collaboration with Sézane.
In addition to ready-to-wear and accessories, the store will organize special events around bag personalization workshops, shirt embroidery and customer experiences “inspired by Paris retail’s stores experiences”, said Margot Carlhian, in charge of the press and influencers. Influencers who were invited to discover the Sézane universe in a dedicated showroom open in West Hollywood for a week.
A real taste before the very supposed opening of a permanent store. This pop-up is the second organized by Morgane Sézalery in Los Angeles, a first having taken place at The Grove in March 2018.
"If nothing is planned yet in the long term, this experience will allow us to meet our customers, to measure the enthusiasm that exists for our brand," explained Carlhian. "If an opportunity happens, we will take the time to discuss it.”
Sézane has now 11 physical 'Apartments Stores' in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Lille, Bordeaux, London, Madrid and New York, to which are added 'Towers' with ephemeral shops intended for testing its potential in cities in France, Europe and the United States.
With a turnover estimated at around 130 million euros in 2021, Sézane has been watched by many investors for several months. JP Morgan Chase & Co has been mandated to offer Sézane to various potential buyers and investors.
