Norwegian Rain is set to open its first international standalone store in London. Opening the on 13 June, the first location outside Norway will carry the brand’s iconic rainwear for both men and women including the signature piece the Raincho.

The store will be located on Picadilly St - Norwegian Rain

“London has and will always play an important role in fashion and design as a whole,” said Norwegian Rain designer T-Michael to FashionMag. “The tailoring heritage also appeals to us hence it is only fitting that our first store outside Norway should be placed in London. Norwegian Rain and T-Michael has ambitions of being a vital part of the creative, fashion and design world worldwide. This is our first step. A non-pretentious and an alternative approach to fashion business. Besides it rains in abundance in London. We feel at home really!”

Situated at 193 Picadilly St, the 135 sq mt store will also showcase a curated selection of Scandinavian mid-century furniture by Modern Tribute, as well as new collaborations with British footwear brand Grenson and UK designer Ally Capellino, set to drop later this year.

“Add our latest British collaborations and the puzzle get completed. Grenson celebrates its 150 years anniversary this year and together we have made ‘The waterproof leather shoe’ that will hit the market in August. Also, we have teamed up with the fascinating Ally Capellino to make ‘The waterproof bag’ out of recycled, hi-tech Japanese materials. UK turned out to be our natural next step,” said Alexander Helle, Creative Director.

The outerwear brand, established in 2009 in Bergen Norway, offers Japanese-inspired outerwear with sartorial elements. The jackets provide some of the highest level of weather protection available on the market and combine form, function and style.

Norwegian Rain sells across 120 stores internationally in some of the world’s top multi-brand retailers such as Barney’s New York in Tokyo and Harvey Nichols in London.
