The Savile Row company has named, which made headlines last year when its owner and CEO Andrew Ramroop won the Black British Business person of the year, has named Daniel Haworth as new director. At 23, he will be Savile Row’s youngest ever director.

“Daniel Haworth, as the youngest Director of a tailoring house in Savile Row, is really the future of the company,” commented Andrew Ramroop. “As Managing Director, it’s my responsibility to develop, enhance and secure the company’s future. By appointing a young person, it means there are many years ahead of Daniel to continue to develop the company with the ethos that we have of being at the top of the field of tailors, not only on Savile Row, or London, or the UK, but the best tailors in the world.”

Haworth added: “The generation that I’ve come from means that I can bring a different side to the business. I understand the younger generation and the new customer, what they want and the engagement that they need as a consumer. They want to understand what goes into a suit, why it takes so long and why it is priced it is.”

The appointment comes as the tailoring shop prepares to celebrate a milestone this May. An online 360° exhibition of the most important suits of its history, a new award for a talented young person, and the creation of an exclusive new style are part of the celebrations.

The house’s Golden Thimble Award will offer a winner a scholarship at the Savile Row Bespoke Academy, giving a young enthusiast the opportunity to learn the art of tailoring. The prize is worth £15,000, according to Ramroop.

Meanwhile, the creation of a suit made from the luxurious vicuña cloth will be shared online via time-lapse footage. The suit has been commissioned by a customer, and will take over 100 hours to create.

Additionally, Maurice Sedwell will make a celebratory offer to customers.
