Salvatore Ferragamo adds ready-to-wear to online offering

Salvatore Ferragamo has launched ready-to-wear online in the US for the first time, marking an expansion in its e-commerce offering from accessories to apparel.

The Florence-based brand already sells accessories online worldwide but has never before sold clothing online, until now. According to executives, the US will serve as a test market, before any further markets are explored.

The initial assortment available online will mirror the runway ready-to-wear selection currently in Ferragamo stores, with looks and the haute bohemian spirit of the runway collection modelled via a music video on the brand's website.

Fulfillment for the ready-to-wear items is to be done out of New York, with plans to continue to grow the online ready-to-wear offering organically.
