Luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue unveiled on Friday a revamped e-commerce experience at Saks.com, marking the company’s first comprehensive website update in the past five year.

On the new shopping website, replatformed using Salesforce Commerce Cloud -- a more seamless shopping experience -- was designed via easier add to cart and 'Wish List' features, along with improved filtering options, and improved site speed across desktop and mobile.

Product pages were equally enhanced with the launch of a 'Complete the Look' section, which customers can shop directly, and new personalized viewing preferences, where shoppers can choose to view items on or off model.

The updated website also promises tailored product recommendations and curated content, including segmented homepage tabs and navigation for women and men.

Customers can still expect to find the usual curated assortment from both emerging and established designers, now under a more prominent 'New Arrivals' section, a significantly expanded 'Edit' section with shoppable editorial content, and a new 'Designer Spotlight' section.

"As luxury consumer shopping habits evolve, Saks is meeting our customers where and how they want to shop and experience the best in fashion and beauty," said Emily Essner, chief marketing officer at Saks.

"With that, we are making strategic investments across all channels - including our online experience - to solidify our position as the go-to luxury shopping destination. In reimagining our site, which has been underway for some time, we listened to our customers and developed an online experience that sets the standard in luxury e-commerce.”

The retailer’s investment in e-commerce comes as the Covid-19 pandemic has launched a boom in online shopping that is only expected to heighten as retailers enter the holiday shopping season.

In addition to its online experience, the HBC-owned company operates in 40 stores across the U.S. and Canada, as well as its mobile experience via the Saks App.
