The renewed agreement will run through to December 31 of 2025. The partnership between the two partners began in 2010.

In a press release, Safilo's chief executive officer Angelo Trocchia said the renewal comes after the partnership has seen recent "impressive performance" in key European markets, the U.S. and Brazil.

“Safilo will continue to build on the momentum that our brand is experiencing, bringing the eyewear collections to new consumers globally through Safilo’s longstanding global excellence in this industry," said Daniel Grieder, chief executive officer of Tommy Hilfiger global and PVH Europe.

The Tommy Hilfiger renewal follows further contract updates between Safilo and Missoni through 2020 as well as Banana Republic through 2025.

While the Italian eyewear company experienced a rough third quarter in 2018, Safilo continues to place an optimistic focus on its direct-to-consumer strategy for 2020, including the appointment of Andrea Bulgarelli as its new digital transformation director in December.
