River Island to add one more kidswear store to store estate

River Island is moving forward with plans to open more kidswear stores across the UK with a new location in The Broadway in Bradford.

The UK high street brand opened the first shop dedicated entirely to its childrenswear range in Glasgow in February last year.

The new location in The Broadway will occupy 3,378 sq ft of space and offer the label’s baby, toddler and childrenswear collections, including the recently-launched gender-neutral range. River Island already has a presence in the shopping centre with a store currently selling its women’s, men’s and kids’ collections.

Phil Cooke, managing director at River Island, said: "Our kidswear has always proved popular in Bradford, we therefore felt there was a great opportunity to open a store in the city. We're excited to offer customers in Bradford the best shopping experience we can.”

Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway, Bradford, added: “River Island Kids is another important addition to our growing list of well-loved retailers. The award-winning lifestyle brand chose Bradford to be home to its seventh UK kidswear store due to the popularity and high sales of children's clothes which have previously been sold from within the Centre's River Island store.”

Last year, the shopping centre added a number of new brands to its retail line-up, including Footlocker, Superdrug and Specsavers. Additionally, footfall increased by 1.5 million on the previous year.
