Resale specialist Lampoo lands in UK on King’s Road

Published
May 11, 2022

Milanese luxury fashion resale platform Lampoo is about to make its UK debut with a retail store on London’s King’s Road.

Lampoo

Combining both online and physical platforms, Lampoo brings the latter to Chelsea with a two-floor 130 sq m store that will feature “authenticated high-end pieces from fashion houses such as Chanel, Gucci, Balenciaga, Dior and many more”.

Customers will be able to both buy and sell pre-loved luxury at the store, Lampoo noted. Here, customers can book selling appointments to help valuate precious items such as bags and fine jewellery.

Promising “a more conscious way to shop with a service that is uncompromised”, consumers can get in-person advice from ‘Luxury Experts' working in-store, offering “a level of service on par with the world's top luxury boutiques”.

The team not only sells items directly in the boutique, but also photographs and manages the online platform’s listing “leaving consumers to access the profit without the hassle”.

Meanwhile, Lampoo said it has now changed its selling process so customers can decide their own selling price, with those Luxury Experts helping authenticate and share suggested pricing.

The brand “has also reduced its commissions so, in contrast to other consignment platforms, Lampoo sellers simply pay a £20 concierge fee, and earn 70%-100% of the selling price on their items”.

Moreover, Lampoo said it has increased its list of 'most wanted’ bag brands from 10 to 28 designers, “where payment is given straight away, without waiting for the item to be sold”.

“Secondhand luxury is booming and after Lampoo’s initial success in Italy, I'm thrilled to be opening our London store on the King's Road in May,” said founder and CEO Enrico Trombini.

“The UK is the largest luxury fashion market in Europe so it was natural for us to start our international expansion here. The influence London itself has on the fashion industry makes our presence in the British capital more relevant than ever. Our strong presence in London, alongside our offices that welcome our tech, marketing and customer care teams also helps bring us 'closer' to the largest and most active VC market in Europe.”
