The company will launch the new leg of its clothing rental service beginning the week of April 15. Rent the Runway Kids will function as an extension of the company's current membership-based monthly subscription services, with additional options to rent items for four or eight days via its Reserve service.

The debut launch will include a variety of girl's apparel ranging in size from 3Y to 10/12Y from designer labels like Little Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Marni and Fendi

Currently, the company's standard unlimited monthly subscription service only allows users to rent up to four pieces of clothing or accessories at one time. However, those interested in the new children's items will be given added flexibility on the RTR platform, that will allow for more items to be added to an order.

This means that outfits can be rented for adults and children in one go, making the service a convenient one-stop-shop for those preparing to attend kid-friendly events.
The kid's expansion marks the company’s continued strategy to reach a broader audience of people who might find it more convenient and sustainable to rent designer compared to buying it.

Most recently, RTR inked a partnership with corporation WeWork, aimed at targeting working professionals seeking designer rental items.
