Australian footwear giant Ugg has enlisted rapper Vic Mensa to be the face of the brand’s fall campaign. The campaign featured Mensa in four of the brand’s new styles.

Ugg’s fall collection was created in partnership with Footaction, a global apparel, and footwear lifestyle brand.
“I like where the UGG brand is going. They’re open to trying new things and really pushing forward. When someone like me wears UGG, it’s kind of like repurposing the brand from its original concept, which was made for surfers. I think it’s dope that they’re taking new perspectives,” Mensa told the press.

Mensa, the star of the campaign, is an American rapper. He was recently nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rap Song category.

This move shows a push by the brand to appeal to a more fashion-conscious demographic. ““Launching with Vic Mensa is truly the perfect way to introduce the UGG brand to our fashion-forward consumer,” said Ken Side, vice president, general manager for Footaction.

The four styles all feature Ugg’s signature wool lining. The “Neumel” is a lace-up chukka-style book. The Butte is a classic snow boot with wool lining. The Roskoe boot is a duck-toe boot finished in leather and suede. The Hannen TL, one of Ugg’s best-selling boots, was given cold-weather updates, including waterproof leather and sealed seams.

The fall collection is available now at Footaction retail locations, as well as at footaction.com and UGG.com.
