Raf Simons’ first campaign for Dior revealed

Published
Jan 4, 2013

The first Raf Simons campaign at Dior was always going to be a delicate matter. Despite denying in the press any attempt to instill a minimalistic vision at the French fashion house, it is hard to ignore the surrealist influence of Belgian painter René Magritte in Dior’s new campaign.

The images are the work of Belgian photographer Willy Vanderperre, a loyal collaborator with Raf Simons and Kris Van Assche of Dior Homme, another Belgian. His artistic vision is a favourite with many houses including Jil Sander (when Raf Simons was at the helm), COS and Adidas brand SLVR.
