The Belgian designer wanted to collaborate with The xx and McLellan due to his longstanding appreciation of the band and their collaboration on the music videos for “On Hold” and “Say Something Loving.”

Simons’ collaboration with The xx and McLellan stars Calvin Klein collaborators such as Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, who is one of the face of Calvin Klein Appointment; Paris Jackson, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson that attended the Costume Institute Benefit as a guest of Calvin Klein; Ashton Sanders, the face of the Calvin Klein Underwear spring 2017 campaign, and models Lulu and Ernesto Cervantes, who each appear in advertising campaigns for the brand as well as the Fall 2017 Calvin Klein 205W39NYC runway show.

Simons’ first marketing campaign for Calvin Klein that launched in February was an introduction for the fashion shopper that doesn't prefer luxury fashion or couture. The campaign is an ode to American fashion, art and design, featuring iconic Calvin Klein jeans and underwear and the works of artists Andy Warhol, Dan Flavin, Richard Prince and Simons’ frequent collaborator Sterling Ruby.

The Calvin Klein men’s underwear campaign was fronted by the cast of Moonlight, the 2016 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, the women’s underwear campaign celebrated women of all ages and included Rashida Jones, Kirsten Dunst, Laura Harrier and Lauren Hutton, and the new Calvin Klein Obsessed fragrance campaign features outtakes from the brand’s Obsession fragrance campaign from 1993.
