Pure London announces keynote speakers for upcoming July show

Published
Jun 18, 2019

Fashion designer, social entrepreneur and TV commentator Patrick Grant and Brigitte Stepputtis, global head of couture at Vivienne Westwood, are keynote speakers for the upcoming edition of Pure London, taking place on 21-23 July at Olympia London.

Patrick Grant, owner and creative director of E. Tautz

The keynote speakers will be part of an educational content programme running alongside fashion shows and showcases during the fashion trade fair.

Patrick Grant will reveal his journey from materials science engineering student to saviour of tailoring business Norton & Sons and ready-to-wear brand E. Tautz in a talk on Sunday 21 July at 3.20pm. He is an advocate for British manufacturing, having launched social enterprise Community Clothing and serving as co-chair of HRH The Prince of Wales’s charity ‘Future Textiles’, which supports the creation of jobs in the UK garment-making industry.

On Monday 22 July at 3.20pm, Brigitte Stepputtis will be discussing sustainability in a conversation with Tamsin Lejeune, CEO of Common Objective. She will also talk about the path and progress of the Vivienne Westwood brand, new developments in the wider industry, how to tackle the challenges and where to take the chances. Stepputtis is the global head of couture at Vivienne Westwood, responsible for implementing Green Carpet projects and initiating, supporting and coordinating various commitments of the brand's sustainability strategy.

Stepputtis is also a director at the Ethical Fashion Forum and on the advisory board of Common Objective, a platform for sustainability in fashion.

Securing two high-profile speakers will give a further boost to Pure London, the UK’s leading trade fashion buying event bringing together womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories and young fashion collection.

The event is now under the ownership of ITE Group, one of the world’s leading organisers of international exhibitions and conferences which also hosts Jacket Required, Moda and Scoop.
