Puma partners with Sophia Webster on dance-inspired collection

Published
Jun 1, 2017

German sportswear brand has teamed up with British shoe designer Sophia Webster to launch a footwear and apparel collection that combines her whimsical style and functional features.

Debuting on September 5th exclusively at Sophiawebster.com, the collection draws inspiration from dance and will include footwear, apparel and accessories. It will be available globally in Puma stores, online and select retailers on September 9th.

Sophia Webster has previously collaborated with Barbie, J.Crew, Level Shoes and Revlon, but this is the first time the footwear designer links up with a major sportswear brand. The designer is known for her original shoe designs and was the recipient of the BFC Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2016.

"Second only to my love of design, is my love of dance and the opportunity to collaborate with Puma enabled me to bring these two passions together. It's been an exciting process tapping into the expertise of Puma's sportswear technicians and its specialist performance fabrics, allowing me to bring my design aesthetic to the active millennial world," commented Webster.

"We are very excited to partner with the brilliantly talented Ms. Webster for this new collection,” added Adam Petrick, Global Director for Brand & Marketing at Puma. “Puma has had a long history of partnering with world-renowned creatives to bring new life and depth to its Sportstyle product offerings. This collection definitely continues in that tradition and puts a playful spin on our iconic products."

The brands did not provide further details on the collection, but Sophia Webster’s key themes like butterfly wings, candy-inspired palettes and witty statements are likely to make an appearance.
