PROJECT has a new president

Published
Oct 19, 2012

Just a little over a year ago Tommy Fazio became head of men's fashion at Nordstrom. The former vice president of men's collections at Calvin Klein and former president at British designer Simon Spurr is now taking over the men's portfolio of Advanstar Fashion Group’s U.S. trade shows.

Effective October 29, he became president of PROJECT and its bi-annual editions, events that host premium brands at shows in New York and Las Vegas. Fazio will also oversee the S.L.A.T.E., Street and Magicmens shows.

Advanstar CEO Tom Florio says that Fazio's arrival should help invigorate men's fashion in the United States. "American designers need the support of an organization like ours," said Florio. "There has never been a better time for men's fashion in America. However, America does not have a place on the world's stage as Milan, Paris and London do. With Tommy onboard, we hope to create partnerships that reestablish men's fashion week in New York and continue to create new business opportunities for our community of retailers and brands at PROJECT."

The next edition of PROJECT takes place January 21–23 in New York, a first chance to assess the Tommy Fazio effect.
