Première Vision New York returns to physical events this July
Fashion trade fair Première Vision New York is making its physical comeback at the end of July, when it will welcome 67 international and domestic companies to its first in-person event since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Touch the products, see the innovations and meet safely face to face thanks to our strict sanitary measures… Première Vision New York is ready to welcome the U.S. fashion community,” the event promises in a release published on Tuesday, tapping into the sector’s eagerness to see the safe return of physical trade shows.
Following more than a year without physical events, Première Vision New York will be taking over Fifth Avenue’s Center415 on July 20 and 21, when it will showcase a range of new material developments and creative cues for Fall/Winter 22-23 collections.
Companies participating in the two-day show will include French textile group Deveaux, high-end fabric designer Malhia Kent, Turkish worsted manufacturer Yünsa, Thai embroidery specialist Bischoff Gamma, Italy’s Fada Tessuti and the New York Embroidery Studio, among others. According to Première Vision, product presentations will be complemented by “an attractive Made in USA manufacturing offer.”
The physical event will be supported by the Première Vision Marketplace, an online sales platform where all of the trade show’s exhibitors have e-shops. The platform, which is accessible throughout the year, hosts e-stores from more than 1,500 companies.
Première Vision New York is keen to highlight that the physical event will be “fully compliant” with NYC Covid-19 safety guidelines, with attendees required to have their temperatures checked and show proof of full vaccination when they arrive at the venue. Visitors who cannot provide proof of full vaccination, must present a recent negative Covid-19 test result or an antigen test.
As well as a return to physical fashion weeks, the last few months have also seen the comeback of a number of in-person trade shows after a coronavirus-related hiatus. Tranoï opened its doors in Paris, June 25 through 27, during the French capital’s men’s fashion week, while Première Vision hosted its own “Fashion Rendez-Vous” in Paris on June 30 and July 1.
Pitti Uomo’s somewhat muted physical comeback met with positive reviews earlier this month, although many attendees suggested that the return of larger trade fairs could not come soon enough.
Première Vision Sport’s Portland and Boston editions, on the other hand, have been postponed from August to new dates in September and October. According to Première Vision’s general manager, Gilles Lasbordes, the change was implemented in order to synchronize with the reopening of the Portland area’s major sportswear players – including Nike, Under Armour, Adidas and Columbia – in early September.
