The Italian fashion company announced on Thursday that it has appointed Christopher Bugg as group communication director, effective this month.

Christopher Bugg - Prada Group

In his new role, Bugg will oversee the group’s communications strategy, as well as communications across its brands, which, aside from its namesake Prada label, include Miu Miu, Church and Car Shoe. He will report to Prada Group’s head of marketing, Lorenzo Bertelli.

Bugg succeeds Bertelli in his new position, which was also previously held by Stefano Cantino.

Bugg joined Prada Group in January as Prada marketing and communication director for Asia. Prior to this, he served as global digital communication director at Paris-based Louis Vuitton, having previously held the role of global vice president of digital marketing at Calvin Klein, in New York.

He holds a BA in Marketing and Digital Communications from the University of Evansville, Indiana, and the University of Cape Town.

“Chris’s extensive experience in delivering communications strategies at global fashion houses will play an important role in accelerating Prada Group’s digital transformation,” explained the company in a release.

Prada Group’s digital transformation strategy launched in 2017 and has thus far involved collaborations with the likes of Adobe and Oracle seeking to improve the company’s customer experience and data analysis capabilities.
