Poland joins E-commerce Europe

E-commerce Europe, an umbrella organization for online retailing, yesterday announced that Polish association Polska has joined its ranks. Polska, which working towards setting up the Chamber of Digital Economy (e-Chamber) in Poland, now consist of over 100 members.

The Polish e-commerce market is value at 4.2 billion euros. Sales made online have grown by 25% in Poland over this past year, with half of the country’s internet users (around 9 million) placing orders online with an average transaction total of 464 euros.

Countries that are already members of E-commerce Europe are France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain and most recently Ireland. E-commerce Europe, which works to defend e-retailers rights within the European Union, estimates that e-commerce in Europe was worth 305 billion euros in 2012, up 22% on the previous year.
