Podcast: Richard Collasse on the importance of brand culture in Japan

Published
Sep 4, 2019

Richard Collasse is the new head of travel retail at Chanel, appointed to the role just several months ago. Based in Switzerland, the French executive is a stalwart of the venerable rue Cambon label -- without ever having worked at its headquarters. Collasse has served throughout his time with the renowned Parisian house at its Japanese branch, Chanel K.K.,  where he has held the role of president, and for which he remains a distinguished representative.

In this French-language podcast produced by LuxurynsightXFashionNetwork.com, Collasse, who has also carved out a career as an author on themes related to Japan, the country in which he has lived for 45 years, explains the decisions that led him to Japan. He shares his experience on the market, describing the importance of culture and savoir-faire, and spelling out his views on the evolution of the sector and, naturally, of Chanel.
