Planning permission approved for Boxpark Wembley

The Boxpark retail and leisure scheme in London’s Wembley Park has been given green light, opening the way for the creation of the biggest Boxpark to date. The Boxpark brand has become known for its quirky mix of fashion, retail and dining and the new development will complement an overall retail revolution in the Wembley area.

Set to open in late 2018, Boxpark Wembley will be located in the heart of Wembley Park, an area which is being transformed with the delivery of 500,000 sq ft of new retail and leisure space, 7,000 new homes and 630,000 sq ft of office space.

Boxpark Wembley will house 27 food and beverage operators, and include 20,000 sq ft of dedicated events space, taking a slightly different approach from its Shoreditch sister which features 40 pop-up spaces for fashion, lifestyle and beauty brands.

The provision of interesting food and drink options are seen as crucial for driving footfall to destinations that feature fashion stores in the UK today leisure tenants being a major target for mall, retail park and high street developers.

Boxpark Wembley unit sizes will range from 500 sq ft to 1,800 sq ft, with the line-up of tenants expected to be announced in the coming months.

There is also a Boxpark in Croydon, which focuses primarily on the drinks and dining experience, while Boxpark Shoreditch houses both food and fashion brands. Some of the high-profile brands which have opened pop-ups at Boxpark Shoreditch include Puma, Vans and Levi’s.
