Oct 28, 2019
Jacket Required, the contemporary menswear trade show, has announced Phil Wildbore will be acting as Sustainable Ambassador to spearhead the growth of its green offer ahead of the upcoming January event.
Wildbore is described as one of the original pioneers of sustainability and ethical fashion in the UK. He launched his first brand, Road, in the '80s after becoming aware of the poor working conditions in fashion supply chains while working with a family-run factory in Leicester.
His second brand, a denim label called Monkee Genes arrived in 2006 and became the first jeans brand to be awarded the Soil Association certification.
Commenting about his latest appointment, Phil Wildbore said in a statement: “I am proud of my role for Jacket Required with the ability to continue my campaign to promote sustainability and ethical manufacturing. I'm very excited about this opportunity and very much looking forward to my next adventure in this ever-evolving industry.”
Adam Gough, event director at Jacket Required added: “[Phil Wildbore] brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience in the ethical and sustainable fashion arena and at Jacket Required we are determined to work towards creating a show that prides itself on showcasing brands with a clear conscious vision for the future and good quality product produced in the most ethical and sustainable way.”
The show’s upcoming edition, taking place on 22-23 January 2020 will feature an international line-up of brands across contemporary menswear, streetwear, footwear, accessories and lifestyle products.
Organisers expect to welcome buyers from independent retailers, department stores, online retailers and multiples.
