Poundland is bringing its affordable clothing line Pep&Co to over 500 stores across the UK in a bid to increase its market share in the value fashion league.

This will mean all 850 Poundland stores in the UK and Ireland will offer the fashion range, including outlets from the Dealz chain in Ireland.

The Pep&Co line was first introduced in 2018 as a trend-led collection aimed at helping the retailer take a bigger slice of the discount pie and compete with the likes of Primark.

Offering styles for men, women and children for as little as £1 and on average less than £10, the collection was initially rolled out across 300 stores in the spring of last year.

“Offering affordable family fashion is one of the ways we’re reinventing Poundland for our customers,” Poundland trading director Tim Bettley said in a statement released this Friday.

“Rolling out our full Pep&Co offer to 300 locations gave us real credibility. The launch of edited ranges in almost twice that number of stores means we can start to introduce more of our customers to the great value and quality Pep&Co brings.”

In its nine-month trading update, the retailer said the introduction of Pep&Co products in its stores is giving customers more reason to shop on the high street. In fact, stores offering Pep&Co products enjoyed a healthy 7.7% increase in sales on a like-for-like basis during the period.
