Penhaligon’s and Kiehl’s open at Liverpool One

Two luxury beauty brands have taken space at Liverpool One, helping boost the shopping centre’s premium line-up.

British perfume house Penhaligon’s has opened its first North West flagship store on Peter’s Lane, making its regional debut with a 500 sq ft store. Designed to emulate a classic English manor house, with painted timber panelling and warm British oak flooring, the store showcases the perfume house’s range of scents, alongside bath, body and candle collections. 

A central sommelier bar elevates the shopping experience by offering personalised and digital fragrance profiling consultations.

Commenting on the opening, Lance Patterson, CEO of Penhaligon’s, said: “We give great consideration to the locations of our stores to ensure they align with Penhaligon’s bespoke, luxury values, and Liverpool One is the perfect footing for our step into the North West region.”

The perfume brand is joined by American skincare label Kiehl’s, which has also opened on Peter’s Lane. Owned by L’Oréal, the brand has relaunched at a new 500 sq ft store, where visitors can discover the collection of dermatologist-recommended skincare solutions, haircare, bodycare, beauty and cosmetics.

Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Grosvenor Europe commented: “As a result of our considered leasing strategy and management, Liverpool One is fast becoming the number one destination for premium brands in the North West. 

“These two entrants will provide a boost to our well-established high-end line-up, which also boasts Kate Spade, Mint Velvet and Polo Ralph Lauren. Both Penhaligon’s and Kiehl’s place great focus on the in-store visitor experience, complementing the high standards of our extensive retail mix at Liverpool One.”

The two openings follow a successful 2019 which saw sales up 2.5% year-on-year, and a rise in footfall figures with 29 million visitors in total.
