Riva joined DVF in April 2015 as the company’s first Chief Executive Officer. The company appointed Riva as CEO after conducting a long search to fill the position. Riva served as Tory Burch Vice President Apparel and Merchandising prior to joining DVF and held global merchandising, marketing and product development roles at Valentino and Salvatore Ferragamo.

Under Riva’s leadership, DVF appointed Jonathan Saunders to replace Michel Herz as Creative Director, after Saunders closed his eponymous label, and expanded its presence in the Middle East by opening four stores in Dubai. Riva said in a statement that expanding in the Middle East was a strategic priority for the company.

In addition, DVF Co-Chairman Joel Horowitz parted ways with the company during Riva’s tenure.
