Pangaia opens permanent concession at Selfridges
Combining eco fashion with materials science, casualwear and loungewear brand Pangaia has promoted itself from experimental pop-up status to permanent installation/concession at London department store Selfridges.
Developed to offer an immersive experience, “rooted in innovation, exploration, and core values” the Pangaia experience continues to take its cues from the brand’s commitment to ‘high tech naturalism’ to act as a “platform for discovery”.
Meanwhile, the permanent space aligns with Selfridges’ Project Earth initiative, “created to reinvent retail and meet its commitment to a net-zero future”.
Founded by Russian entrepreneur Miroslava Vasilyevna Duma in 2018, and notably supported by investor Carmen Busquets, the co-founder of Net-a-Porter, Pangaia has been busy this autumn.
Earlier this month, it launched its first ever collaboration with outdoor giant Timberland for a footwear collection designed with nature in mind. The capsule features a reimagined six-inch boot and a mule, both offered in men’s and women’s sizes, that combines “partly natural materials, bold colours and iconic style”.
And in September, it opened a green cube pop-up ‘store’ at the Grove shopping centre in Los Angles, adding to its hubs in London, Florence and New York. The “immersive experience” store featuring several curated product drops, including exclusive first access to the brand’s most comprehensive product offering to date as the 'Uniform Series 01' collection, which launched globally in late September.
