For its Fall/Winter 2011-12 campaign, the French shoe company owned by the K-Swiss group decided to pay tribute to the Japanese capital. The digital campaign will consist of a documentary featuring a series of interviews with various artists from Tokyo, such as musicians and painters, and how they are dealing with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that took place in Japan back in March of this year. The film documents rapper and producer Pharrell Williams, sporting Palladium’s newest products, as he explores the city’s underground scene. Named Tokyo Rising and directed by Thalia Mavros, the campaign will launch online and in print.

“Palladium’s core message is about urban exploring and putting your boots on to find out what’s beyond the tourist guidebook,” said Barney Waters, vice president of marketing for Palladium. The new campaign is part of a series of “urban explorations”. Prior to Tokyo, the brand has already travelled to London, Berlin, Los Angeles and most recently Detroit.
