PVH Corp., the parent company behind Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, has unveiled its vision for the future -- and sustainability is key.

The company has unveiled ‘Forward Fashion', the evolution of its corporate responsibility (CR) strategy that aims to reduce the company's negative impacts to zero and increase positive impacts to 100% -- all while improving more than one million lives throughout its value chain.

In order to achieve this, PVH will focus on fighting climate change, addressing the issues of waste and hazardous chemicals and providing development programs for women.

Forward Fashion comprises 15 priority areas, each with key targets to monitor progress. For example, as part of the company's aim for its business operations to generate no negative impact on the environment, PVH will focus in on eliminating carbon emissions by using more renewable energy sources, cut waste to zero by avoiding landfill solutions and eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals in its processes. Its key target for this area is that three of the company's most commonly-bought products will be completely circular by the year 2025.

Similar moves are being made to increase the company's positive impacts to 100% and improve one million lives, with priorities including advancing living wages, sourcing materials ethically, fostering inclusion and diversity and providing access to clean water across its communities.

"Forward Fashion represents a renewed sense of urgency to use the collective power of PVH to achieve transformative change at scale," said Emanuel Chirico, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, PVH Corp., in a statement. "The challenges and opportunities we face are bigger than PVH, but we are confident Forward Fashion will position us for success over the long-term, leading to more engaged associates, more loyal consumers and, ultimately, a more sustainable and responsible future for the fashion industry."

Back in January PVH Corp. joined the Global Fashion Agenda's strategic partner group, which comprises a small group of hand-picked industry leaders focusing on sustainability. Additional companies in the group include Asos, H&M, Kering, Nike and Target, among others.
