PPR and Puma have announced the appointment of Markus Wonko as CEO of Tretorn starting 1 January 2013. For the Swedish outdoor brand this will be an opportunity to fulfill its development potential. The brand, founded in 1891 by Henry Dunker, belongs to Puma and specializes in functional yet beautiful footwear and outerwear as well as lifestyle.
“Markus Wonko will be responsible for the development of the Tretorn brand,” explained PPR and Puma in a press release. “His mission will be to fulfill the potential of Tretorn as a world-class outdoor brand by rapidly expanding the business with further investment in product development and design as well as international sales.”

Wonko’s vast international experience, including 11 years at Adidas, will aid him in leading the Tretorn brand. He will be trading his office in Hong Kong, where he was managing the Asia-Pacific division of Reebok, for a desk at the Tretorn head-office in Helsingborg, Sweden. Before his role in Hong Kong, he was head of sport-lifestyle at Adidas Asia, after having done a stint in Scandinavia.
