Oxford Street to launch ‘new era of brand partnerships’

Published

New West End Company, the organisation behind Oxford Street, is gearing up for new brand partnerships and sponsorships as it moves forward towards its 2020 targets.

Oxford Street is home to many national and international retailers, including Selfridges, Zara, Topshop and M&S - New West End

Among other priorities, the business organisation aims to increase sales across its portfolio by 10% by 2020. To achieve this, New West End has recently appointed global marketing and representation company Wasserman to widen its sponsorship strategy.

The partnership promises a “series of unprecedented global ‘firework’ moments” to position Oxford Street as an unrivalled shopping destination ahead of the launch of the new Elizabeth Line in 2018.

The arrival of Crossrail is estimated to boost retail sales across Bond Street, Regent Street and Oxford Street to £10bn annually and bring 60 million more visits to the area on a yearly basis.

Luciana Magliocco, Marketing Manager of New West End Company said: “Oxford Street is an iconic part of London’s retail heartland and is recognised as the world’s first shopping street. We know it is the first location retailers choose to bring products to market or launch new innovation. Recent ‘firsts’ include the launch of Beyoncé’s Ivy Park range (exclusive to Topshop and Selfridges), Uniqlo’s new global flagship store and Dyson’s soon-to-be launched interactive flagship store, all help to illustrate this.”

New West End Company will continue to push this ‘First Seen on Oxford Street’ messaging with Wasserman, who will ensure a level of premium exclusivity is always delivered. The campaign will also see a series of high profile international retail events taking place this year and ahead of the launch of a new website.

Oxford Street stretches 1.5 miles between Tottenham Court Road and Marble Arch, offering over 4 million sq. ft. of retail space and the longs high street in Europe. It is home to more international fashion brands than anywhere else in the world.
